Our Vision is to grow with intent. We are committed to welcoming new members
of all ages into our midst. In addition to the 8:00am and 11:00am worship schedule, we
have created a child-friendly family service at 9:15, to welcome families with young
children. Our 11 o'clock worship serves those who enjoy a more traditional liturgy, as
well as residents of area retirement and 55+ communities.
Through our Future State planning process, we have staffed the redesign of our youth and
children's ministries. We have engaged an architect to develop our facilities to meet the
needs of our growing congregation with phased construction.
We will maintain intimacy by gathering in groups and reach all
generations through fellowship. At Saint John's, with three Sunday services
during the school year, coffee hour is a vital fellowship time for parishioners to visit.
During the week, other events help nurture community. We organize regular bus trips to
such cities as New York, Washington and Philadelphia as well as occasional sports,
music and theater events. At the church, we hold multiple food and fellowship
gatherings: A parish Christmas party; Lenten soup suppers, monthly school-year
pot-luck suppers and summer picnics. We are always open to new ideas as well. To
help with outdoor events and to make our facility more convenient for parishioners use,
our Future State plans call for new picnic pavilion on the upper lawn. There is a
fellowship representative on the vestry.
